Eurostar set to pass non-stop through Kent until 2025

James Billington, 4 November 20234 November 2023

Eurostar have said that they have no plans to stop trains at either Ebsfleet or Ashford until at least 2025. The cross-channel rail operator stopped serving the 2 stations in 2020, because of the coronavirus pandemic. Stratford International had already seen their european service reduced to none in 2010, after deciding that it was too close to their London terminus in St Pancras, thus defeating the name and point of the very station itself. Eurostar have said that they understand that this will be a great dissapointment to the residents of Ebsfleet and Ashford but Eurostar have cited financial factors and the post-Brexit border situation, with the EU’s entry/exit system due to be in place by the end of May 2023 expected to add “further complexity”.
