GWR Plans Bristol to Oxford Services James Billington, 21 February 2024 Great Western Railway (GWR) plans to run Bristol to Oxford services from the 14th of September 2024. The services will be the first direct trains connecting the two historic cities for over 20 years and will run 4 trains a day and with stops at Bath Spa, Chippenham and Swindon. This trial would run until December when GWR would decide if the service would be worth continuing further and become a regular service. The service timetable from September this year would be 4 tpd (Trains per day). This would include the 1018 Bristol Temple Meads to Oxford, the 1155 Oxford to Bristol Temple Meads, the 1518 Bristol Temple Meads to Oxford and the 1712 Oxford to Bristol Temple Meads to Oxford. However though, these are only proposals and still are yet to be accepted by the Department for Transport and Network Rail. Bristol England Great Western Railway News Oxfordshire
